That site has excellent documentation of the work; some details of our collaboration are in this video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"shemzadigital online exhibition launch\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/623213963?h=238d41cc0f&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"940\" height=\"588\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I worked with her to realise an app for co-creation of immersive installation environments with workshop participants, as well as an &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shemza.digital\/exhibition\">online exhibtion<\/a>&#8216; where site visitors can view a 3D virtual gallery through a first person interface, create digital artworks in an integrated app, and see animated playback of the archive of artworks produced in such a way by all visitors to the site on the walls of a virtual space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"494\" height=\"283\" src=\"http:\/\/xinaesthwp.loc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/aphra_virtualexhibit-494x283.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-505\" srcset=\"http:\/\/xinaesthwp.loc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/aphra_virtualexhibit-494x283.jpg 494w, http:\/\/xinaesthwp.loc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/aphra_virtualexhibit-288x165.jpg 288w, http:\/\/xinaesthwp.loc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/aphra_virtualexhibit-740x424.jpg 740w, http:\/\/xinaesthwp.loc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/aphra_virtualexhibit-370x212.jpg 370w, http:\/\/xinaesthwp.loc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/aphra_virtualexhibit.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 494px) 100vw, 494px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar work in a physical gallery space has been exhibited, where site visitors were able to access the painting app on their phones via QR code. This was successfully implemented in such a way that the install process was simple and seamless, not even requiring my presence in the gallery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been a real pleasure working with Aphra, and I find inspiration in the themes of decolonising art history in this project, and particularly her other work which often deals more with environmental issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have ongoing plans to exhibit a more advanced version of the concept we worked on together, in particular for a solo exhibition and associated workshop activities in Wolverhampton in 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve recently been collaborating with artist Aphra Shemza on her shemza.digital project, following on from work started with Stuart Bachellor.
